We are really delighted that our application for a third European project has been approved. Our project is called the ACTIVE (Active Children, Technological Innovations, Varied Environments) Project. The aim of the project is to develop innovative teaching methods to engage children in ACTIVE learning and to help the children to develop a lifelong love of learning.
Activities over the two years will include sport, mobile technologies and multimedia. (Due to the Coronavirus outbreak worldwide the Project has been extended) There will be opportunities for pupils to visit some of our partner schools.
In September 2019 staff visited our partner school in Gozo, Malta and led workshops on developing a Growth Mindset which can be applied to any activity. Our European colleagues enjoyed learning new skills and being ACTIVE in their learning.
In November 2019, pupils from Year 6 visited our partner school in Helsinki, Finland as part of our Erasmus+ ACTIVE project. They worked with staff and pupils from our partner schools in Malta, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and Turkey. The focus of the work was to explore learning in different environments. We were very proud of our pupils as they represented Howes brilliantly. The staff and pupils had a fantastic week and have come back to Howes ready to lead some exciting work linked to learning in different environments for all classes.
We hope to be able to host the next part of the project in November 2020.
