Some children attend for 2 and a half days a week which enables parents to work.

We are able to provide full time places for children up to 30 hours per week to support our parents in being able to work.

About us

In our Early Years Base we offer a caring, stimulating and safe environment for children to learn and play both indoors and outdoors. We are based within the main school building and have a wonderful outdoor area for the children to learn in and explore.

We provide care for children from age 3 upwards.

Our sessions are term time only.

We are able to take up to 26 children.

Healthy Eating

We provide children with a healthy snack each morning and a drink of milk/water.  If your child has special dietary requirement a snack can be brought in from home.

EYFS – A Parent Guide

In the Early Years Base we work from ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum’ and we track each child’s progress throughout the school year.

There are seven areas of Learning and Development Communication and Language:

  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the World
  • Creative Development

Settling In

Prior to your child starting at our Nursery, the class teacher will contact you to discuss a settling in period and if possible arrange an opportunity for us to meet you and your child.

We employ a staggered entry approach to allow children to have time to settle, get to know their teachers, other children and the routine.

Cost

The term after your child’s 3rd birthday you are entitled to a grant for 15 hours a week free Nursery education. This can be used for our Nursery sessions, so there is no cost to you. If you are interested in more than 15 hours of provision at the school there is a charge of £4 per hour.

Uniform

Whilst school uniform is not necessary for Nursery children, school sweatshirts are available for sale from the school office if you would like one.

Illness

If your child is unwell and cannot attend a session, please phone to let us know. If your child has suffered sickness, diarrhoea or a fever, please do not bring them to school for 48 hours.

Show and Tell

Children have the opportunity to bring toys from home at certain points throughout every term.  A letter will be sent home when these opportunities arise.  Please refrain from bringing other toys into school to avoid items being lost or damaged.
